except I installed the motor and my machine shop was a local shop.
My issue was that the compression on the driver side was 15-25 psi lower than the passenger side (at 500 miles). I double checked the timing...it was dead on. I ended up taking the car to Nissan to double check my compression numbers and for documentation purposes. I took Nissan's numbers to my machine shop and they told me the same thing..."piston rings have probably not seated yet, just drive the car". I drove the car for another 1000 miles...compression stayed the same. To make a long story short...I had my machine shop do a leak down test and the test pointed to exhaust valves. At that point, they covered the labor costs and the gaskets to pull the head and redo the valve job. Compression is now 145 - 150 cross the board.
